Our trained professionals can provide an expansive range of private duty (medicare waivered) services. Our services include:
Skilled Nursing
Skilled Nursing services are provided by Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). They include health status assessments, disease education and treatment instruction for clients and families, nutritional counseling, medication training and compliance, sample taking for lab tests, wound dressing changes, wound care venipuncture, ostomy and management, IV management and more.
Supportive
Supportive services are provided by paraprofessionals such as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides. Depending on state regulations, they are able to assist with bathing, medications and personal care. If needed, we arrange for medical equipment such as crutches, wheelchairs, beds, walkers and oxygen.
Therapy
To speed up the recovery process from illness, injury or surgery, various therapies can be provided at home. These therapies include occupational therapy to regain day to day skills such as dressing and feeding, physical therapy to regain physical motion and strength, and speech and language therapy to improve breathing or lung functioning.
Home IV Therapy
Home infusion (IV) services complement our nursing and pharmacy services, enabling patients to obtain prescribed medications by injections or intravenous lines at home. All Mastercare offices can provide the nursing support for successful home infusion therapy and work with local pharmacies under the supervision of the patient’s physician.
Our IV services and supplies are convenient and economical allowing Mastercare to offer a broad range of infusion therapies from TPN, chemotherapy, antibiotics and pain management to many other specialized therapies. These therapies can be given together or alone with a large variety of Mastercare home nursing services.

The level of service provided is carefully tuned to the nature of the patient’s disorder which can range from a condition or disease requiring acute care, to a chronic condition occurring as part of the natural aging process.
Intermittent Visits
Most health care patient needs can be met by intermittent visit care.
Mastercare believes in doing three things for the patient: treat, educate and
discharge.
Combining education of the patient and family concurrently with treatment can speed the recovery process to discharge and self care. Our system of high-quality intermittent visit care is tuned to the patient’s and family’s physical and financial needs for the best possible outcome.
Mastercare has the ability to control the amount of activity that comes with intermittent visit care as follows:
· Supervision of visits to assure quality care and productive outcomes
· Familiarizing caregivers in the expectations, both clinical and service, of their roles
· Scheduling to the convenience of both the patients and caregivers
· Recruiting an appropriate quantity of caregivers
· Handling the flow of information between physicians, caregivers, referral sources and payers
Continuous Care
Various patients require homecare on a continuous basis. There are many patients that need care for extensive portions of each day, sometimes 24 hours a day. These include:
· Technology-dependent patients
Patients with respiratory conditions treated by ventilators or infusion.
Patients who are paralytic, mentally disabled, or patients whose ability to perform activities of daily living is jeopardized.
Capabilities that distinguish Mastercare as a superior continuous-care provider include the following:
· Recruitment of skilled caregivers to meet 24/7 care
· Back-up options to cover schedule problems
· Distinct care documentation systems and protocols for continuous care
· Comprehensive supervision protocols
· Constant communication with payers and physicians
Credentialing Programs
Pediatric and Wound Care Credentialing are the two specialized programs that we provide. With these programs, caregivers are able to give patients incomparable care, in addition to enabling the caregivers themselves to flourish professionally. Not only do these programs heighten the nurses’ skills when handling wound or pediatric care, they augment and confirm the nurses’ credentials. This allows the patients, their families, and even their doctors to feel at ease knowing that the patient will be in good hands.
Pediatric Credentialing is made up of general care of newborns or ill children, IV medication, nutrition, insertion of peripheral lines tracheostomy care and ventilator care. A study guide with information and key procedures is provided for every care level and is required reading material for all nurses. After reviewing the study guide, the nurses must take a 30 minute exam. The test will include items such as critical-thinking skills and calculation of medication doses for children. In addition to the written exam, the nurses need to show that they have the appropriate skills for every care level. Once a nurse has satisfactorily passed Mastercare’s written exam and demonstrated the requisite skill proficiency, they receive pins of different color to acknowledge the care levels that they have accomplished along with a letter of commendation from Mastercare.
Wound Care Credentialing is a combination of a self-study course, skills and competency checklists, and examinations. Mastercare offices become credentialed when they can prove that up-to-date wound-care materials are available to their personnel. Mastercare goes the extra mile to make sure that patients are given the right instruction and care to be able to understand and control their condition each day as well.
Wound Management Program
One of the fastest growing areas of homecare services is wound care. This is because it makes up the largest percentage of all home visits. It is vital for homecare clinicians to have an understanding of wound care: the healing process, products and product usage, as well as suitable treatment and care.
Mastercare nurses and therapists have the newest products and techniques at their disposal. We have designed a detailed clinical training program with the following objectives:
· Improve healing time
· Decrease time spent on dressing changes
· Improve patient comfort
· Prevent complications
· Improve patient outcome
Pediatric Care
Due to technological advances, pediatric homecare is now a possible option and alternative to a health care facility. Not only can patients and their families choose to obtain care in the convenience of their own home, such a choice is more affordable as well.
If in-home health care is a possibility for your patients, then the critical decision you need to make is which provider to suggest.
Pediatric homecare is a uniquely rewarding, yet demanding practice. Every Mastercare professional has in-depth experience in the unique rewards and demands identified with pediatric homecare. Since we began providing care for ill-stricken children in their homes, we have never strayed from our main focus—to respect our patients and give them the kind of care we would give to our own family, care that is tailored to meet their needs.
Our skilled staff is proficient in specialty programs such as:
· Early maternal – infant discharge
· Infusion therapy – IV nursing and product
· Premature infant discharge
· Pediatric transplant
· Rehabilitation therapy
· Technology-dependent – ventilator, bi-pap, c-pap, trach
Mastercare employees provide an expansive variety of services for all areas of treatment and support, from meal preparation and housekeeping to highly skilled nursing care. And because we understand that families need the chance to relax, we even provide respite care.
Our staff can teach and guide the family in care procedures. By doing this, the patient will have minimal disruptions each day, and will be given the necessary and most ideal care possible.
Continuous Care
The staff of Mastercare guarantees total continuity of care for your patients. Before discharge, the Director of Health care Services or Homecare Supervisor will consult with the family, child’s physician and the discharge planner.
The Mastercare team will create a comprehensive care plan based on the patient’s abilities and needs as well as on professional instructions. We will select employees whose abilities distinctly suit the particular homecare requirements. All the details will be dealt with, including necessary equipment and supplies that the patient may require.
If needed at the time of discharge, our homecare professionals will assist the patient and even accompany them to their home if necessary.
When the homecare plan is implemented, you can be certain that it will be a smooth process. The designated Mastercare team will provide the necessary treatment professionally while updating clinical records.
Hip and Knee Joint Replacement
Each year more than half a million Americans have total hip or knee replacement surgery. While this surgery is being done primarily on older individuals, more than 50,000 people under the age of 65 have had a hip or knee joint replaced. People are living longer, more active lives nowadays, and the increase in wear and tear on joints is leading to the growing number of joint replacements. In fact, repeat replacements are becoming common.
Following Physician Preferences
We work with the physician and staff to understand and document the physician’s preferred post-surgical care path. Standing orders for each physician are prepared ahead of time, ready to be authorized at the time of referral. This is completed as part of program implementation so that we know, in advance, the physician preferences for all the issues that are most relevant to managing home therapy for these patients. This includes the following:
· Wound care directions
· Infection monitoring requirements
· Blood thinner medication prescriptions and lab draw requirements
· Weight bearing status directions
· Nutrition orders
· Vital sign monitoring parameters
The result will be an uncomplicated homecare plan that follows your physician’s preferences.
