Mastercare was founded in 2000 by Anwar Kazi, a compassionate leader who recognized the need for trustworthy, family-like home care in Hawaii. With just a handful of caregivers and a big heart, we began supporting seniors and people with disabilities — focusing on dignity, independence, and quality of life.

As the needs of families across Hawaii grew, Mastercare expanded its services in 2005 to provide specialized care, including personal assistance, support for chronic conditions, and companionship. Veterans hold a special place in Mastercare Hawaii’s heart. Through our partnership with the VA Aid & Attendance Program, we have supported hundreds of Hawaii’s veterans and their spouses with trusted in-home care—helping them maintain independence, dignity, and comfort in their own homes.
By working closely with local VA case managers and healthcare professionals across Hawaii, Mastercare ensures that each veteran receives the benefits and personalized attention they deserve—from assistance with daily living activities (ADLs) to more complex post-surgical care.

During the COVID-19 crisis, Mastercare Hawaii responded with swift action and compassion. By implementing PPE, strict safety protocols, telehealth coordination, and staff vaccinations, we protected Hawaii’s most vulnerable kupuna without cutting essential services. Instead, we strengthened our mission—often becoming the only in-person connection for many island families.

With a rising aging population and increasing demand for personalized in-home care in Texas, Mastercare is well-positioned to meet a growing need in the Dallas region. Already, the office has onboarded experienced caregivers and VA clients, continuing the mission of delivering quality, compassionate care.
